VAA Fiscal Year is January 1st through December 31st each year. Dues are payable January 1st. Deadline is February 18. Monthly meetings are held each month from September to June and provide learning opportunities for Artists. Monthly meetings keep you informed about art educational opportunities, displaying and selling your art with local functions. Monthly meetings offer you the opportunity to meet other artists and build relationships with people that can relate to your art interests as well as forming great friendships. The VAA Library has Videos and Art books that can be checked out for 1 month.
Our VAA web site www.visualartsassociation.com has additional information and pictures for your viewing and information. There is also a Monthly Newsletter.
As a non-profit organization you can participate in building funds for Art Scholarships in the 3-county area for graduating seniors taking advanced education in the field of fine arts.
Membership Application & Renewal
Art Shows eligible members are able to display and/or sell your art. All shows an opportunities are announced at our meetings and posted in the VAA newsletter as well as e-mail notices. December, March and October Shows offer volunteer opportunities to either chair or assist in whatever way you can. Your help is needed to create wonderful shows for your art. You will build great friendships by volunteering to serve on committees. Not sure how you can help – just ask any of the officers or committee chairpersons and they will be happy to explain how you can help. See below for a complete list of opportunities.

Show Up and Show Your Art
There are two types of VAA art shows for artists to display and sell their artwork. A show is judged and has a fee to enter. The art exhibits are opportunities show show and sell your work. There is no judge and no fee to enter.

Opportunities of a Lifetime!
Volunteer opportunities are a great way to meet yoiur fellow artists , get involved, make a difference, meet new friends and have fun!
Volunteers are needed to help with the monthly meetings and to assist with the shows and exhibits. kif yoiu have a special talent or just want to assist let us know.
Privedges for Volunteers recieve priority registration for the shows and exhibits!
Opportunities to Volunteer for Shows and Exhibits
Show Chair Winter / Fall - coordinates all facets of the show and works with the recreation center's staff. Follows procedures for the show and guides the artist to comply with the show rules. The registration of artists, compiling a budget, arranging publicity and organizing the volunteers are all opportunities to assist the Show Chair.
Co-Chair to Show Chair - works to implement tasks with direction from the Show Chair. May oversee the registration of artists and artists display locations.
Registration -
Assigns and informs the artists of their designated spaces within the recreation building. Delivers the show registration fees to the Treasurer.
Installaltion Committee A group of volunteers to remove and install artwork entered into the exhibit on the day of changing out from one show to another.
Room Monitors - relieve artists for a brief break.
Committee Opportunities
Board Member Positions- Board Members must attend all monthly bord meetings.
President - Presides over the board meetings, monthly membership meetings and oversees the operation of te club with the assistant President and board members.
Vice President - In the absence of the president, this position conducts business the president would.
Secretary - Take the minutes at the monthly board meetings and transcribes them for records.
Treasurer - Handles the financials of the club(receipts, payments) keeps records and submits a montly report of transactions.
Past President - Volunteer Board Position to provide perspective and advice.
Appointed Board Members - Limited to six Board members positions appointed by the organization's president.
Committee Positions
Communication Chair - Receives important information from the committees / board members that needs to be communicated to the members. Arranges the layout of the information and emails notices to the member . Coordinates information with the Newsletter Editor and Web Mistress.
Co-Chairs for any committee are always welcome!
Hospitality & Refreshments - Coordinates the volunteers in purchasing and arrangement of refreshments for the General Meetings (expenditures are reimbursed). Oversees the setup and cleanup of refreshments of the meeting. Maintains a supply of coffee and paper goods.
Library - Maintains the books and videos and helps members check them out. Orders new videos and books of there is one that would be beneficial to the members.
Membership Committee - Receives information from new members, updates and changes. Answers questions about membership. Posts the membership directory on our Facebook page.
New Member Liaison - Welcomes new members and provides information for orientation into the organization. Newsletter Editor and Assistant - Gathers information about activities of the VAA organization then edits the articles for the monthly newsletter - there is no newsletter in July & August. Communicates this information to the Communication Chair and Webmaster for publishing.
Program Director - Contacts and arranges for guest speakers or artists for the General Membership Meetings. Meets the guest then assists with equipment that is needed for their presentation. Committee - Research, selection and invitation of potential scholarship students in the tri-county area high schools.
Scholarship Committee - Research, selection and invitation of potential high school students in the tri-county area.. Follows up on the progress of the students and reports back to the membership.
Scholarship Fundraising - Fund raising for the yearly scholarship monies to be awarded to selected students.
Sunshine - Sends cards to members who may need some cheering up or cards for special recognition. Members need to let Sunshine know of people who are in need.
Web Master or Mistress - This position requires some computer skills and a willingness to learn the WIX program. Keep the Website up dated with the calendar, New show dates,
