Kelsie Clermont The Villages Charter High School, The Villages FL Flagler College |

Kelsie Clermont is the first VAA scholarship winner from The
Villages Charter High School. Kelsie enjoys working in ink,
colored pencil and graphics and her work shows great
imagination. She has shown in the State Fair and Lake Sumter
Community College where she won first place in the Martin
Luther King contest for high school students. Kelsie will be
going to Flagler College and intends to become an art

Carissa Cook West Port High School, Ocala FL Norma Li Wang Award New Hampshire Institute of Art |

Carissa Cook is from West Port High School in Ocala and says
mixed media is her preference. Carissa is the recipient of
the Norma Li Wang award for 2010. Her work has been shown at
various shows and galleries, and she has won awards at both
the Ocala Art festival and Marion Cultural Alliance. She
will be attending the New Hampshire Institute of Art to
pursue a career in graphic design or illustration, although
her love of costume design could also result in

Rebecca Miller West Port High School, Ocala FL Joe & Lynda Miller Award (Cheap Joes) Ringling College of Art and Design |
|
Rebecca Miller graduates from West Port High School in
Ocala, and will attend Ringling College of Art and Design to
major in animation. She will work toward a career in 3D
animation, motion design or special effects design.
Rebecca's love is painting in oil with a palette knife in
addition to animation and karate - she hopes to get her
black belt this summer. Additionally she has shown in many
local art shows and participated in summer workshops at
SCAD, Ringling College and Full Sail College. In addition to
the VAA $2000 scholarship Rebecca also received the Joe &
Lynda Miller award of $250 plus $250 in supplies. pencil

DJ Persad West Port High School, Ocala FL Savannah College of Art and Design |
|
Devannand (DJ) Persad will attend Savannah College of Art
and Design (SCAD) after graduating from West Port High
School. He will study architecture with a concentration in
urban design. His favorite media is oil and his AP portfolio
concentrates on the effects of urban sprawl on the older
elegant designs. ![]() |

Casey Wooster Mount Dora High School, Mount Dora FL University of Florida |
|
Casey Wooster attends Mount Dora High School carrying a 4.56
GPA. Casey will attend the University of Florida to major in
fine arts with the goal becoming a world class photographer.
Her use of the camera to express art is very advanced for a
high school student. She has received a number of awards at
art shows in the Mount Dora area. Additionally she has been
involved in student government plus the fencing, debate and
drama clubs. She also participated in the Student Ambassador
